Exercise #2

Color Temperature, Saturation, and Brand Consistency

Images carry distinct chromatic temperatures that influence emotional perception:

  • Color Temperature: Measured in Kelvin (K). Warm tones (2700K–3500K, amber/golden) evoke intimacy, warmth, and nostalgia; cool tones (5000K–6500K, blue/cyan) communicate precision, technology, and clinical authority.
  • Tonal Grading in Design Systems: World-class brands apply custom color lookup tables (LUTs) or CSS filter presets to unify photography across diverse vendor submissions, ensuring no single photo violently clashes with brand primary colors.
