Exercise #6

Content Chunking and Section Separation

Users do not consume a page as a monolith; they process content in semantic chunks:

Visual Separation Techniques (Ranked by Visual Noise)

  1. Whitespace Margins (Lowest Noise, Most Modern): Separating sections using 64px to 96px of negative space.
  2. Subtle Surface Tonal Shifts: Alternating background fills (e.g., white container against an off-white canvas).
  3. Delicate 1px Borders: Subtle boundary strokes (border-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.06)).
  4. Heavy Divider Lines (Highest Noise, Least Modern): Obtrusive solid lines that break reading flow.
